George Roach President and Founder After obtaining an MBA in Finance at St. John’s University in New York City,
George Roach decided to combine his business skills with his love of
woodworking and furniture. He spent five years working for a local millwork
company, learning the industry from production through sales and marketing.
Recognizing the multi-faceted needs of both contractors and end-users, he
founded GER Industries in 1973. Over the years, George assembled a team of
experts to address all aspects of providing the highest quality built-in
cabinetry woodwork through GER’s 35,000 square-foot woodworking facility in
New Rochelle NY with manufacturing companies in Asia. George continues to
oversee operations both in the U.S. and overseas, providing the utmost in
personal attention to GER’s clients on their many diverse projects.
Robert M. Darby Executive Vice President Robert Darby’s extensive background in architectural woodwork is the
foundation to his success as a proven leader in his field. He joined GER as
General Manager in 1982, after more than a decade working as a draftsman at
Haggerty Millwork. Robert was promoted to Vice President in 1996, and
Executive Vice President in 2000. With a strong reputation for getting the
job done on schedule while maintaining the highest level of quality, he is
well-known throughout the architectural woodwork industry. Robert works with
our design team, providing technical support and translating their designs
into working drawings. Responsible for production, scheduling and
installation, he oversees our domestic factory and frequently travels to our
Asian factories. Robert attended Manhattan Technical College in New York
City.
Renzo Maugeri Executive Vice President With years of experience in Hotel Development, including positions as
designer for BBG-BBGM, developer and construction project manager for
Tishman Reality & Construction, and hotel design and development consultant
for Warnick + Company, LLC, Renzo Maugeri brings a unique perspective and
well-rounded understanding of what it takes to satisfy the project needs of
interior designers, purchasing agents, hotels and private end-users. In his
role as Executive Vice President, he utilizes his broad expertise to
facilitate contact between GER’s clients and staff and overseas factories,
ensuring a smooth transition and optimal performance from each phase of a
project to the next. Renzo graduated Syracuse University in 1998 with a
Bachelor’s in Architecture Degree.
Eric Darby Senior Project Manager Eric Darby originally joined GER’s drafting department in 1996, eventually
moving into purchasing and finally into project management. Specializing in
furniture, fixtures and equipment, Eric is involved in every facet of
operations. He works closely with our designers, production department and
installers to guarantee quality control and customer satisfaction. Eric has
been instrumental in many of GER’s more well-known projects including the NY
Post Office and Court House, Borgata Hotel Casino, The Hilton Grand Vacation
Club, Mondrian South Beach Hotel, Weill Cornell Medical Center, and Goldman
Sachs Corporate headquarters. Eric is a graduate of Boston’s Wentworth
Institute of Technology’s Architectural Engineering Technology (AET)
program.
Connie Lee Senior Project Coordinator / Outsourcing Connie Lee joined GER Industries in 2003, serving as a Senior Project
Coordinator on a broad range of projects including Trump SoHo Hotel,
RiverHouse on Rockefeller Park, Weill Cornell Medical Center, Goldman Sachs
Corporate Headquarters, the Hilton Grand Vacation Club, and the Henry Miller
Theater. Connie received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Interior Design
from Central Missouri State University, and studied Interior Design at the
Malaysia Institute of Art in Kuala Lumpur.
